Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Questioning / Transgender or Gender variant
Parkway Medical Group are committed to offering a welcoming supportive and inclusive environment for all patients and for the people who love and support them. As part of this we have regular training sessions, most recently on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender awareness. The training is provided by MESMAC North East and the focus was on barriers faced by people, of all ages, who identify LGBTQ in accessing services.
Being more aware of how others may perceive our words or actions/ not assuming everyone is straight / the need to be more visibly inclusive - were just some of the challenges the practice took on.
