Domestic Abuse

Newcastle Womens Aid providing group programmes giving opportunities for women to recognise domestic abuse, its impacts and explore options so the process of recovery can begin.

Mens Advice Line offering advice and support to men experiencing domestic violence and abuse.

Drug and Alcohol

Change Grow Live Newcastle Integrated Psychosocial, Recovery Support and Care Coordination Service is a free and confidential drug and alcohol service for adults.

Newcastle Drug and Alcohol Addiction Services a dedicated service for anyone in Newcastle experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol.

Gambling

Gambling Advice free information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms.

Mental Health

Mental Health Matters is a nationwide charity providing a wide range of support to people with mental health needs and has some useful self help guides.

Crisis Resolution and Home Treament Service  is a team of experienced mental health staff, which includes nurses, social workers, psychiatrists and pharmacy staff. Offering assessment and home treatment for people over 16 experiencing a mental health crisis.

Talking Helps Providing Guided self-help (GSH) which is a brief therapy based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which aims to support people with mild to moderate common mental health difficulties, such as low mood, anxiety, and stress.

On my mind aims to empower young people to make informed choices about the mental health support they want, the treatments they receive and the outcomes they desire.

Mental Health Support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Trans (LGBT) information on organisations offering mental health advice, support and services for LGBT people.

Musculoskeletal

Tyneside Integrated Musculoskeletal Service  (TIMS) is a joint Newcastle and Gateshead service which offers self-care and fast access to expert opinion, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of muscle, joint and soft tissue conditions and chronic pain.fi

Sexual Health

Newcroft Centre   provides a wide range of contraception and testing for sexually transmitted infections as well as a number of other sexual health services. Offering both walk-in clinics and booked appointment.

Check your bits offers free and confidential Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea testing for people aged 15 to 24 who live in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Termination of Pregnancy

Call this service (operated by The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) if you are pregnant and would like to arrange an appointment to discuss your options.  The receptionist will need your name, date of birth and the date of your last menstrual period.  All information is treated in the strictest of confidence.  It is important to call as soon as you can after finding out you are pregnant.  Call the dedicated 24 hour line for an appointment on 0191 – 28 29 300.
