Teens and Young People

Teens and Young People

We welcome all young people to our surgery and we will respect your privacy, dignity and religious or cultural beliefs.

Our mission is to help you stay physically and  emotionally healthy!

Our Doctors, Nurse Practitioners and Nurses can give you help and advice about any worries you have about your health including, sexual health and contraception, weight issues, skin problems, stress, alcohol, drugs smoking and lots more.

We know it can be a bit scary talking to a doctor or nurse about your worries so here are some top tips to help you.

If you feel nervous bring a trusted friend or relative with you.

If you are worried you will forget to mention something write a list and bring it with you.

Don’t be afraid to ask the doctor/Nurse to explain things if you don't understand.

Making an Appointment

If you need an appointment at please ring 0191 2671773.  We can talk about anything you need to talk about such as self confidence, emotional worries, weight issues and acne.  If you are 14 or above you can make an appointment and come on your own or you can bring a friend/relative for support.

Reception staff may ask you if it is an urgent problem to decide when to give you an appointment.  If you feel it is urgent please just say you need to see the doctor or nurse that day.   You may be offered an appointment over the next couple of days.  If you feel it is more urgent than that please let the receptionist know.

All appointments are confidential. The only reason we would need to involve anyone else would be if we thought you were in danger and we would discuss this with you first.
